| LIGHTEN UP MY LOAD, 2007 ::A NOTE ABOUT THE LATEST RELEASE:: We recorded the latest release at East Hall Recording Studios in Northwest Arkansas, USA. We recorded vocals, guitar, percussion, and, depending on the song, either dobro/mandolin/banjo, all at the same time in a large room with multiple mics (live takes). Afterward, we went back in and did some simple overdubs with upright bass and electric guitar. David Farley (dobro/mandolin/banjo/electric guitar), Travis Smith (percussion), Sam Clanton (electric guitar/harmonica), and Chris Moore (upright bass/sound engineer) round out the cast that gives my fourth album what has been described as a kind of "front porch feel, with a sizable dose of Delta-like blues twang and the freedom of the countryside." This third album in the past three years follows the 2006 release "Traces of Me," and 2005's "thisclose." All are currently available for download on iTunes. |
